Congratulations to Anthony Bevilacqua, OLT’s July Friend of the Month! In addition to all his hard work as Musical Director/Arranger for our Broadway Then & Now concerts, Anthony has earned several credits with OLT including A Salute to Richard Rodgers, Songs for a New World (conductor), Spring Awakening (Violin/Viola), and Jekyll & Hyde (Music Director).
A resident of Bergen County, Anthony has worked as a professional musician for the past 16 years as a violinist/violist, reed player, conductor, composer and arranger. He is currently co-concertmaster with the Baroque Orchestra of NJ, Principal Second Violin with the Garden State Opera, Eastern Opera Company, Music Director for New Vision Players, and has a combined repertoire of 100+ opera and musical theater productions. Anthony has performed with regional, national, and touring orchestras, theaters and opera companies, as well as on screen and soundstage for film. He is known for his symphonic arrangements of such film scores as The Godfather, Gettysburg, Gods and Generals, and A Summer Place. Anthony has also worked for Tony winner Willy Falk (Miss Saigon) who sang his arrangement of God Bless the USA at a 9/11 memorial concert in 2011. Anthony’s original works include Trio Pastorale, Heaven’s New Angel in memory of Tyler Clementi, Starlight Symphony, Carnivale Di Morte, and a series of songs for voice and chamber orchestra based on the poems of John Keats.
Educated at William Paterson University, Anthony studied violin with Adrianna Ocello and Franco Gennarelli, and conducting with Dr. J.C. Davis and Dr. Robert W. Butts. Anthony is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, locals 248,16, and 802, and an alumni member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. Anthony lives with his 9-year-old border collie, Lilly.
